Welcome to another edition Behind The Story — the part of that I hope is as insightful for you as it is helpful for me. I use it to reflect on where my brain was at throughout the writing process. Excerpt:
Doris waves at the enigma, prompting Morgan to ponder how she’d react to the discovery that a graphics department invented her body before nature had the chance. The overwhelming sense that she’d somehow find comfort in it, unsettles her.
I learned something new about myself and this little corner of the internet while writing this story.
But before I reveal all of that, I want to remind you of the scariest website on the internet called ThisPersonDoesNotExist. Those five words alone have haunted me on many nights. And if you click on the site, each refresh shows you a face of someone who looks absolutely real and yet is artificially generated.
The first time I visited the site, I a sixth word rang in my head.
Yet.
This person does not exist… yet.
And that simple addition is the guiding inspiration of Method.
